HOW TO HIT YOUR DRIVER DEAD STRAIGHT
Nov 08, 2021Full Transcript
hey everybody Danny Maude here thanks for joining us this week I'm going to teach you how you go about hitting your driver dead straight you know how important it is you get on the fairways you can start hitting those fairways long and straight is gonna set up those chances for hitting pars and birdies and I know some of you out there are interested in necessary just getting distance you're just happy to hit the ball much straighter as opposed to getting this horrible bends into the woods on the right and the left wall we've got you covered in this week's training we're going to cover exactly how you go about doing that comes down to a couple of things before we do that if you're a new to Channel and this is one of your first videos that please consider subscribing I release content like this every week to try and help you improve your game so what have we got for you well let's start with if you want to get that Club or that ball going dead straight what have you going to be good at you're going to be good at presenting that clubface square to like golf ball on a regular basis in order to do that two things you're gonna need two things you need an impact condition where the club isn't wafting around those of you out there are handsy okay that's gonna be very difficult you imagine this I'm looking at here look and I'm kind of wafting this club around with my wrists the club face is gonna be hard to keep square whereas if I kind of in a sense somehow we're able to kind of keep this more stable through the impact area I'm gonna be able to increase the chances of hitting the ball much much straighter so how do you go about doing that watch this so I've got a lot of training a dia tennis racket now I want you to imagine the tennis racket now represents the squareness of your face and you're holding the club with your trail hand here and you're going to imagine coming into that ball in a way that brings that clubface back to square so we gain ourself set here and you go bring it back to square now notice every single time you do this the body will naturally start to open up because when you're hitting a shot here notice if someone's playing tennis they naturally open up you do it might if you didn't have a tennis racket their hand and you've got a wall in front of you just imagine this get your arm in a position with your stick which is down here and then imagine smacking well with the flat part of your hand not the thing is here the flat pads you get the flat part hitting look at the difference look at my trailer boy it naturally is bent it's close to my body here and look what my body naturally does it opens up so what you're trying to do is get the flat part of your trail hand here smacking that golf ball that's your square face notice this in action here watch this smack I'm not allowing the hand to flick in any shape or form notice it's flat smash here I get look at this wonderful position your trail hand elbow is in to the side my body's naturally opened up it's a wonderful feeling now take the golf club in your trail hand as well same principle now if you play golf right-handed and you swing left honey I've got you covered so don't want to just hold on fire and we're doing our left in a second but you get yourself set here now watch this swing you back now imagine the flat part of that right hand now is coming into the golf ball and it's here look it's not there there I'm literally going smack as I'm doing this and I'm keeping this back here it's almost like a hinge in my right wrist here as I'm doing this it's smack as I do this my body naturally starts to open up through impact now for those of you who have these loops in your swing okay those loops disappear when you do this action because watch this any say if I'm going to present this racket to the ball will I ever would it make any sense to do this look at that look at the racket it just makes no sense of talk does it would I do this again makes no sense so when I've got my hand here and I'm thinking right I'm gonna bring that racket back to square notice this smack this right shoulder on my trail shoulder here always stays behind because I'm trying to kind of present the hand and therefore the clubface square to impact so this is always hold back if I did this look what would happen to my arm it starts to rotate and bring the club in and the racket this way just keep that sensation there so it helps to form a very natural consistent path back here and on the way through so for those of you who play golf right handy but maybe left-handed same position applies use the back of your lead hand here swing it back and now imagine that I'm going to return the back of that hand to the golf ball as I do this no it's this if I if I swing over the top that would make no sense look what's going to happen here with the racket I can't present that to the golf ball again watch this swing you back here back to impact look at a square racket here am I going to do this again makes no sense would it makes sense to kind of whip the hands around in here no because look at the rocky now so I'm taking the racket back beautifully square here because that makes more sense to get it back what you've got to do with these one-handed exercises is learn the feel of them and learn how they can transfer then to the golf club so once you've done that just grab a driver okay and what you want to do is same principle you can actually hit golf balls it's like get people hitting balls with one handed no problem with usually with an iron just happy maybe not a driver but you just kind of swing the club back and then matching you're getting into this position somebody's a little hinging my right wrist here my natural look at my arm here it's bent in this position why it's only bent because I'm trying to present it square if I didn't have it here look at that the codfish's automat you're gonna close that makes no sense so I'm focusing on getting that clubface completely square I impact my body therefore naturally opens then you get with your left hand kind of feel the same thing lead handy for you the left hand is out there swing it back and now present the clubface completely square learn to get the sensation of that backwards and forwards then put both hands in nice and slowly through you back try to represent the same feeling and then very slow don't rush into this if you try and spin quickly one brdu body won't be I'll keep up we swing it back and through
that's pretty straight that one okay so let's do that again get yourself set get a feel now and doing it very very slowly to start with we're not rushing through this process guess they'll set swing you back here feel that motion again maybe did someone honey marshes to really accentuate the feel of that right elbows it notches the side of the bit of flexing my right wrist here my bodies naturally opened up I'm not having to think about all these things all I'm trying to do and I want you to do the same it's presenting that clubface with one hand square to that golf ball and allow the body naturally to react to what's happening okay you're more clever than you think the body is more clever so trust it same with the lead bang now some of you will prefer the left side feeling a lead side feeling some of you will prefer the trail side feeling entirely up to you get the sensation I'm more of a lead side personally but a lot of people like this feeling with the right as well so again nice and small swing it back and
through then we can start to get a sense a bit of hitting it absolutely dead straight notice this what causes the wafting it's simply not presenting the clubface square not moving at all the stability of the body especially the earnest of the body causes the hands to work overtime so let's summarize what have we done you want to hit driver dead straight you're gonna have to do two things you're gonna have to be very good at presenting the clubface square to that golf ball you don't want any wafting around and you don't want any loops around here to do that grab yourself a tennis racket because nobody loops around with tennis okay take it as if it's your hand okay and you're simply going to move the racket back here and present it back to square here no it's this I'm not doing this I'm not doing this because of that watch this that's actually a lot of people in that position I see a lot of people in that position racket facing this way you never do that in tennis bang for those of you play golf right-handed but a left-handed doesn't matter you use the left hand right watch this would I take the racket in here course not back to here back to square the key with this is look your body opens up naturally it's the opening up that will keep that clubface stable through the impact area it's a not opening that gets it wafting around trusts your natural instincts and you're going to start to hit the ball so much straighter with this Martian but be patient with it you know start really slow go to a range first of this don't mean a rush to start smashing long drives and you'll really really get it because you already have it you already do it maybe not with a golf club now but you'll do it with a racquet you'll do it naturally with your hand as well I hope you enjoyed this training if you do and if you think some of your friends could benefit from this maybe they're struggling with their driving please share it I've caught gives it a thumbs up and if you're new to try out and this is one of your first videos maybe subscribe to the channel and maybe come see me next week but until next week have a great golfing week
