Transcript Summary-

ey everyone! At the end of this video, I’ve got a huge announcement to share with you, but first, let’s dive into something really exciting. I had the incredible opportunity last week to spend a couple of days with two-time major champion Xander Schauffele. I asked him about the secrets to his effortless golf swing—something we’d all love to master—and he shared some fascinating tips. One of the biggest takeaways was how he removes tension from his swing to make it smooth and easy. Plus, towards the end of the video, Xander reveals how he increases his driving distance, carrying the ball over 300 yards, with just one simple setup adjustment and a swing tweak. It’s so simple, and I can’t wait to show you!

We also got into the mental side of the game, which is so crucial, especially at his level. Xander explained how he picks targets off the tee and aligns himself to hit consistent shots. He shared how he stays relaxed with his driver, even when conditions are tough, and gave us insights into his pre-shot routine, alignment techniques, and how he avoids tension in his forearms through a subtle waggle. It’s all about keeping the swing natural and coordinated, letting the trunk guide the motion.

When it comes to adding power, Xander has some brilliant tips. He talked about teeing the ball higher, moving it up in his stance, and even hiking his left shoulder to hit up on the ball. He demonstrated how a slight heel lift in his backswing creates a bigger arc, generating more distance. It’s all about loading properly into the right hip to maintain power and balance. Watching him ramp up his swing and smash a ball with that incredible flight path was amazing—something we can all learn from!

Finally, a quick thank you for all your support! If you’re enjoying this content, please give it a thumbs up, share it with a friend, and don’t forget to subscribe—it helps us bring on guests like Xander. Plus, we’ve got a fantastic giveaway: a signed bag from Xander and a brand-new Callaway driver! Good luck, and let’s get back out there to hit it straighter and longer!

Full Transcript-  So at the end of this video I've got a huge announcement I'm really excited to share with you but before I do look I'm here to help you play better Golf and I had the Good Fortune last week it's been in a couple of days with Xander Schley two-time major winner in 2024 and I asked him what were the keys to his easy effortless golf swing would we all love that and he shared with me some some really surprising things one thing was incredible he had this way of taking tension out of his goal swing to make it easy in effort so I'm going to share with you what that is but also cool towards the end of the video he shows me how he increases the distance how he was able to really start carrying the ball over 300 yards he changes one thing in setup and one thing during the swing and none of it was complicated it was really really easy so I'm really looking forward to sharing that with you so come and join us now on the te and let's help you hit that driver a little bit straighter and hopefully a little bit longer so talk me through your process I mean one of the things you know to win two major championships for me you've got to be strong mentally you know you know so I mean you've you've been knocking on the door for a long time helped a lot in that process I can imagine so tell me about your process to actually hitting hitting a driver um driver is probably it it just cuz golf is such a mind game yeah driver feels like the freest Club in my bag just because it typically gives you the biggest margin of error off the tea especially when you're playing like an open or something you just know that you cannot hit it in that dead bunker and you have about 50 yards left of that you know unless there's gor bushes but for the most part I'm not afraid to hit it into Fescue yeah um but I'm playing like sort of you know middle Fairway if they're trouble right middle Fairway to even left Fescue as my Fairway yes because if I hit in the Fairway it's a bonus great um it's just hard to do when it's blown 25 miles hour overseas and it's cold it's just it's not that easy to hit Fairways so you have to pick pick your side which is kind of how I play it um so I feel the most relaxed with driver I always set up behind you know with that all said I'll have my sort of Target so you know that Bunker's dead I'm going to sort of put I don't know what's left here over these sort of swampy area but you know I'm going to put myself towards those two two palm trees I typically pick a aiming spot um I actually have made mistakes picking aiming spots too too close to my ball too far from the ball where you know if you're slightly off it can actually really really put you in a weird place yeah that's me personally so how do you get that right for you then so you've picked your spot in you've picked out your spot let's say the bunker there as your target yeah what are you doing after that yeah so I mean I'm looking you know luckily here there's a ton of debris on this T box so finding an Aiming spot isn't very difficult so I mean I'm probably 2T from the ball I'm looking somewhere in this area here so then I'll just set up put my club face to that spot try and set up parallel to it and then depending on what kind of shot I'm trying to hit if I'm trying to hit a fade you know I'll have that spot in reference um where I'm trying to hit it and I'll set up a little bit open to that so then I know I'm set up for a fade so you're just changing the alignment of your St no ball position just um for a draw you know favor further back just catching it sooner in the arc yeah cut you know up potentially yeah depending on what kind of shot you're trying to hit so you've picked your spot you've put your spot in front of the ball you're setting up and then what happens for me Tendencies for my especially with driver my shoulder to get open um so typically I like to kind of make this left side sort of strong um and you know put my hand on secondary here so strong Beam for those who are watching you can see that you just kind of like almost pinched this in a little bit yeah I mean I feel like at times if I if I kind of just walk in because your right hand's lower if you just kind of walk in my I'm not a rerouter of the club you know like Rory or something reroutes it so nicely he can kind of get away with a setup that you know is a little bit open just because he moves the club nicely I I don't do that the way I reroute is by doing this so yeah I get I'm trying to get away from that so for me like to to set up square is pretty important close to it a little bit opens fine but I I just can't have it like this cuz as soon as I uncoil the first move is you know my upper body is that way okay so you've got your you've got your alignment got my alignment you know I got my spot I can see it you know right now I'm set up probably for a little fade um and then yes hand on here and then for me I always take a waggle um it's become there isn't much structure to it I think it's just like a it used to be more sometimes I'm using it to to have structure uh whether the face is too open or sorry too open or too shut um but these days it sort of feels like just something I do to sort of relax and kind of keep all the like pressure tension out of my forearms uh so I'm not sitting here like this you know what it's really funny we we had some time we Gina and she exactly the same thing okay yeah like a really nice it's almost like this kind of a way of just getting yourself ready B basically yeah like you know it's almost you I've seen people do like sort of pendulum you know swing where you relax to get the club back in in a sense I'm more doing it to keep pressure out of my arms and sort of feel my trunk kind of moving the club this way versus it being like this super structured deal yeah so would you say that you're you're controlling this motion with your trunk uh I I feel yeah in takeway you know I mean God I've read so much stuff too you know people talk about you know your your your shoulders your arms your hands what pulls the club back for me I always I think naturally if you just have the club here and you just kind of let bring it back you know I'm not going to like rip my lower body to then pull the club back you know you're sort of sort of letting your shoulders Rock then your hips will sort of follow it it kind of happens naturally you can see that and it's really naturally coord SE sequence and coordinated isn't it yeah love that let's let's see you hit a shot all right

how was that yeah pretty good I mean it's pretty downwind but I hit it slightly off the hill so I had a slight left start and it was definitely trying to cut back towards those two palm trees I mean it's a ball that I would take all day all day long it's not get any trouble whatsoever absolutely yeah there was not much to it and if you were going to if you were on a tee and you really wanted to ramp it up so you had to carry that bunker over three what would you do much different setup so I would tee the ball much higher um moving the ball up in my stance you closer to my left heel uh you're trying to hit up on it so for me setup wise I don't I don't really like to do the I used to try to do it but since I'm so lateral off the ball I kind of just try to hike this shoulder up so I'll even I'll hike this one Bryson's another person you see you know when he has up he's sitting there like this looking almost you know what I mean but for me like because the ball's further up I don't really want to attack something that's so far up in my plane with a really flat shoulder uh shoulder feel so I'll kind of cheat this up a little bit especially when I'm trying to hike it doing it at all with your hips though you're just doing it purely with right I'm not I'm not sitting there with this like reverse K because I move off the ball so as soon as I do that all my tilts and line everything gets it's all over the place really cool yeah yeah it's really smart it's really kind of it seems like a really smart way of doing it because you see it a lot don't you you know anyone who gets lateral gets way too much in this position yeah and then that was more chis too CU at first I would try and start a little bit more with that reverse K and Chris is like I don't really like that matchup isn't really great for you so zand's just about to share with us two incredibly simple tips that will help any golfer increase the distance of the tea before I get into the look can I just take a moment to say thank you so much for your support if you enjoying the video make sure you give it a thumbs up maybe share it with a friend and if you haven't already subscribe to the channel down down below it really helps me bring on guests just like Xander so we can share just simple golf tips to you every single week just like this let's get back into the video I used to like almost be like camoo esque when I was a kid where it would be really slow and then I'd snap onto the ball you know and then I started reading all the stuff about you know pick up pick up the pace a little bit more you know that was really it's it's still is hard for me to do I think as I've gotten stronger I can support it a little bit better yes where I you know I don't I'm not when I'm trying to hit one hard I'm not scared to sort of rip the club back to hit one hard would you that a power move is I think so she taking it back a little bit quicker I think so I mean when I'm trying to hit one hard I try to you know seriously ramp up my nervous system I'm sitting there you know I'm not taking crazy deep breaths but I'm sitting there like trying to prepare myself to go I'm not going to sit there like doile being like okay I want to hit this one really far like you know what I mean you didn't give me that advice yesterday that would have got me p on the you know all this it was cold last night it was 166 is pretty good it was chilly so you kind of like say in terms of we're talking power right so you're ramping yourself you see that with Bryson didn't you as well you know one of the things he would be the exaggerated version of that would would bringing long drive onto onto like a tournament course yes yeah yeah so you kind of like you're you're not there but you're kind of like you're just a little bit yeah I mean for me you know if I can if I see a bunker at 300 yards now I I can't sleep my way over it you know there's guys there's plenty of guys on tour that can just not plenty but there's you know 10 to 15 guys I can think of that can take their normal stock drive over it if I you know hit a smooth drive it's going to go about 295 to 300 so I'm still swinging hard to cover bunker at 300 yards yeah okay same deal here I'm going to take it further up my [Music] stance set up because it's further up this shoulder I think hiking it up too is an easier way to get it online so I'm going to hike this cheat this thing up a little bit now we're way up trying to play for kind of a high pull almost high pull um and I'm going to give a little heel lift that's usually how I give myself an extra bit of Arc and and and room to play tell me what do you mean by yeah heel lift so I think you know long drive guys naturally because they're trying to get such a big Arc this heel ends up coming off the ground right um for me it's big to still load correctly when I lift the heel I see a lot of people sort of kind of looks like like this my left heel is off the ground but this is just there's nothing going into this right so it's important to still load big into this hip you're kind of cheat a much bigger turn especially for someone sort of short like me so let's give it a world let give it a smash yeah ramp yourself up get this left shoulder as high as I possibly can and we're going to give this a little bit of heel lift

here ah he launched and as you said just yeah it's a much different flight completely different is I'm trying to go over a bunker at 300 yards that's going to look like that yeah if I'm trying to hit a fairway it probably look like the first one you might just got past 166 ball that one just barely Xander that was absolutely absolutely awesome um thanks so much for taking the time to to help us out and look if you're looking at gaining um a few extra yards and and learning to hit straight you look at how simple um you know two-time major Champion uh keeps it so I really appreciate taking the time um to come on to the channel and do this for us um while we're here actually we've got a cool giveaway we got a signed bag from Xander uh plus a new brand new caare Elite driver all you have to do to be a chanc win is leave a comment in the comments box below just saying what you enjoyed about this video may be be sure to be a subscriber of Danny moore.com sorry Danny M and Callaway golf EU to be in with the chance again jander thanks so much I really appreciate it thanks DD cheers.
